The music industry is the main reason I download music for free off torrents/playlist.com/etc. The music industry has retarded pussyfits about "piracy is bad" and runs tactics to make it seem like music piracy is worse than murder, selling drugs, and robbery combined.

Plus their need for money is another reason. An example is WMG's fits about Youtube not giving them enough money, and yes, I know they solved their Youtube controversy, but it's extremely restricted on who can and cannot view.

I think alot of artists are realizing that the music industry is too commercial nowadays. For example, NIN released their latest album under Creative Commons, which means you could remix, post it, etc without paying royalties. Another example is Radiohead, which they let people pay whatever they want for their latest album, including free. And Pearl Jam, who was on Sony BMG-licensed labels for the last 18-19 years just went independent, but to a lesser extent, as outside of North America, their latest album is distributed by Universal.

Yeah, I find that the music industry has become releasing track after track of Hip-pop and various other forms of pop just for people to eat up...I mean, it's almost as if music is losing it's meaning.
