Oprah Winfrey Ending?

The queen of daytime talk shows, Oprah Winfrey, plans to end her highly rated The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011 after 25 years, her spokesperson said Thursday.

"The last day will be Sept. 9, 2011," the spokesperson says. "She will speak about it on (Friday's) live show."

What does everyone think about this? Do you think it will really end or will she change her mind? Oprah Winfrey discussion here.

I don't honestly think it will end, I know she's been doing it a long time but it's probably just a publicity thing.

I think the show will end, but her helping others will probably still go on.

You know how usually she has her talk show with many viewers watching on television and at the show itself? Well, I think she'll stop making episodes of her show and having it broadcasted on TV. She'll probably have plenty of re-runs. But after the talk show and broadcasting new episodes is over in 2011, she'll continue helping others like with Cancer patients, etc.. but she'll live to her fullest with whatever she wants to do with the rest of her life.

I don't think she will, she's probably retiring from giving all her effort to helping people as well.

*shrugs* The future can only tell for sure. =p

Yeah, we'll have just to wait and see.

She hinted when she gets her own network in 2011 (Oprah Winfrey Network, which is Discovery Health right now), she might continue on there. So who knows?

Yeah, apparently Discovery is discontinuing their Discovery Health channel and somehow she got a hold of the space that it used to be on.

I love the Discovery Health Channel. But her own TV station? Would that just display a bunch of her reruns or?

She's announced very few shows that'll be on the channel. I think she said a cable version of Dr. Oz's show might air on that channel, and that's all I remember.

She's also in talks to move her syndicated show to the network:

Ugh, I can't believe she's getting so much...She's not even famous outside the U.S (Compared to Jerry Springer, Rikki Lake and others)

I thought she already had her own TV station, actually....

According to the Wikipedia, she co-founded Oxygen back in 1998, but sold her stock to NBC.

It's true.. I think people al over the world know her.. + She did so many good things!

Oh, you misunderstood, we know who she is in the U.K but we don't get her shows.
